Introduction
Gitcoin is a blockchain-based platform that enables individuals to support and finance open-source projects within the crypto space. By making donations to these projects, you not only aid their growth but also gain the possibility of qualifying for lucrative airdrops. These airdrops can provide you with valuable tokens that may appreciate in value over time.
Recently, Gitcoin donors received Optimism tokens, which is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, as an airdrop. This example is just one of the many thrilling opportunities that Gitcoin donors can access. By backing the appropriate projects, you can potentially earn valuable tokens while also contributing to the expansion and progress of the crypto space.
Right now Gitcoin Beta Round is Live, Donate on Gitcoin and potentially qualify for huge airdrops. Beta rounds ends on May 9th.
Requirements
Before you participate in Gitcoin beta round grants you need to verify your Passport and collect some stamps. Passport verification allows you to verify your identity as a good actor (and not sybil attackers), and to qualify for your donations to be matched.
To create Passport:
1. Go to https://passport.gitcoin.co/
2. Click on connect wallet and connect metamask
3. Then click on Sign
Once you’ve created your Gitcoin Passport, you can immediately begin collecting stamps. In the dashboard you can see many stamps. Select the verification stamps you’d like to connect to start building your passport. The more verifications you have, the stronger your passport will be.
To collect the stamp:
> Click Connect Account on the Stamp you’d like to add
> Follow the provided instructions until you see a verified notification
Example:
Here I am verifying ENS account. Click on verify ownership then click on select all and verify.
Then sign the transaction. That’s it. You have successfully verified and collected stamp. Similarly try to collect as many as possible.
To be eligible for donating, you must receive a minimum of 15 points out of 100.
